A lot of people are interested in pursuing careers as pharmacists, mostly because they are well respected and highly paid professionals. Becoming a pharmacist is not easy, it is a long and difficult road and the competition to get into pharmacy school can be intense. A lot of people would like to be able to get a pharmacy degree online, unfortunately that isn't possible. There are no online pharmacy degrees available and that is unlikely to change any time soon.
There aren't a lot of things that can't be studied online these days but learning to be a pharmacist is one of them. There are no degree options available that will allow you to qualify as a pharmacist. The reason for this is primarily that pharmacy degrees require a lot of laboratory work and hands on training. These are not things that can be easily learned online. Subjects that require a lot of lab work are the ones that generally aren't available for online learning and pharmacy is one of those subjects.
There is a possibility that some time in the future it may be possible to get a pharmacy degree online through the development of virtual labs, however this seems unlikely for a few reasons. The biggest being that the existing pharmacists have little incentive to create more pharmacists. Fields like pharmacy are high paying primarily because the pharmacists themselves decide who can qualify to enter the profession. It isn't really in their best interest to increase the numbers of pharmacy graduates.
If you do want to be a pharmacist then online learning may still serve a place in your education plans. To enter pharmacy school you need to have a bachelors degree and that can be done online. There are a lot of good reasons to do a bachelors degree online especially for people who will be continuing on to more schooling afterward. Most new pharmacists are deeply in debt because they have been in school and not working for such a long time. If you do your bachelors degree online you can reduce the amount of time that is spent not working and avoid running up a lot of debt.
After you finish pharmacy school there are still other online education opportunities. Careers like pharmacy require constant upgrading and continuing education to stay on top of new developments. A lot of this training can be done online. There are a number of masters degrees available for pharmacists who want to move into more specialized fields or who want to become managers. There are also a number of other courses available just to allow the pharmacist to stay on top of all the new things that are constantly occurring in the field of pharmacy. You may not be able to become a pharmacist with an online degree, but you will do a lot of online learning if you do become a pharmacist.
